How does NameGenie work?
Describe your business and we’ll suggest 20 name ideas. For each one we run a domain check and look for a UK company with the same name, all in one go. Found the one? Your launch plan takes you straight to buying the domain, registering your company and getting your website.
Is a name mine once it passes the checks?
Not until you buy it. Nothing’s held for you until you buy the domain, and you’ll see the final price at checkout. Companies House makes the final call when you register. Trade marks aren’t covered here, so run a quick trade mark search before you print anything.
Which domain endings should I choose?
Classic sticks to familiar endings like .com, .net, .org, .info and .biz. Modern adds newer, specialist and country-code endings such as .ai, .io, .shop and .co.uk. Both gives you a mix of the two, picked to suit your description.
Can I buy the domain, register my company and get a website here?
Yes. Pick a name and your launch plan takes you to each step: buy the domain, register your limited company and get a one-page website (Launch Site with OnPoint). Do the steps you need and skip the rest.
Is NameGenie free? Do I need an account?
Yes, it’s free, and there’s no account to create. You only pay if you buy a domain, register a company or order a website, and you’ll see the price before you pay.
What happens to my business description?
We send it securely through our server to Microsoft Azure AI to create your names. It’s not durably stored in a NameGenie database, though our hosting and AI providers may keep their own logs under their own terms. Your search history is saved on your device until you clear it or your browser clears its storage. Please don’t include anything confidential. Our Privacy Policy has the full details.
Do I buy the domain from NameGenie?
No. Buy domain now takes you to our domain partner, where you’ll see the final price at checkout and complete your purchase. We may earn a referral commission, which doesn’t change the price you pay.
Why might a domain or its price change after I check?
Domains can go fast, and prices can change. Nothing’s held for you until you buy it, so check the registration and renewal price at checkout before you pay.
Can I go back to past searches or share my name ideas?
Yes. NameGenie saves up to 20 past searches on your device, newest first. Open one to bring back its description, settings and name ideas, and we’ll check them again. Share creates a link to your results, and you choose whether your description goes with it.
How do I get better name ideas?
Tell us who your customers are, what you offer and what makes you different. Then fine-tune the optional industry, naming style and domain endings. Want a particular word in the name? Put it in your description.
Why do domain prices vary?
Prices depend on the ending, how long you register for and whether the name is premium, and renewal prices can differ from the first year. Prices in £ are estimates. You’ll see the final price at checkout.
